🦘 When are you more likely to see kangaroos?
One important thing to know: this is not a zoo.
Eastern grey kangaroos roam freely throughout the park, so there is no fixed viewing time and sightings are never guaranteed.
Cooler mornings are generally a good time to visit, when kangaroos may be more likely to be out on the open grasslands.
🌿 A few useful reminders
- Entry to the park is free, but normal public transport fares still apply.
- Check PTV or Google Maps for live public transport information before you leave.
- It is also worth checking Parks Victoria for any current park notices.
- Try to finish your visit before dark.
If you would prefer a more structured wildlife experience with opportunities to see Australian animals at an established wildlife park, you can also consider:
- Maru Koala & Animal Park
- Moonlit Sanctuary
Both are alternatives for visitors looking for a closer wildlife experience.
Tips for your visit
- Visit with flexible expectations: kangaroos may be easier to spot in open grassland, but wildlife sightings can’t be guaranteed.
