A Melbourne City Stamp Trail: 4 Stops to Add to Your Day Out
Make stamp collecting part of a Melbourne city stroll. These four Australian Adventure Passport stops share Wednesday, Friday and Sunday as regular opening days—handy days to plan a route.

Turn a day out in Melbourne into a small stamp-collecting trail. The Australian Adventure Passport’s Victoria list includes South Melbourne Market, Melbourne Town Hall Visitor Hub, Old Treasury Building and Cooks’ Cottage.
If you hope to visit all four in one day, Wednesday, Friday or Sunday is the shared regular opening-day window provided for these stops. Check each venue’s latest visitor information before setting out, as hours and access can change. Ask staff at each location about the passport stamp.
1. South Melbourne Market
Address: 322–326 Coventry Street, South Melbourne
Where to ask: Information desk, at the junction of Centre Aisle and Aisle F.
The market is open Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 08:00 to 16:00, and Friday from 08:00 to 17:00. If you’re visiting on a shared day, Friday or Sunday fits the four-stop plan.
2. Melbourne Town Hall Visitor Hub
Location: At the corner of Little Collins Street and Swanston Street
Where to ask: Ask the Visitor Hub staff about the stamp.
The hub can also help with walking maps, route advice and local souvenirs. Its listed daily hours are 09:00–17:00.
3. Old Treasury Building
Address: 20 Spring Street, Melbourne
Where to ask: Enter via the main Spring Street entrance and ask a staff member inside.
The building is listed as open Sunday to Friday, 10:00–16:00, with last entry at 15:45; it is closed on Saturdays. General self-guided visits are free. That makes Wednesday, Friday and Sunday the relevant shared days for this stop.
4. Cooks’ Cottage
Location: Fitzroy Gardens, Wellington Parade, East Melbourne
Where to ask: Ask staff at the cottage entrance about the stamp.
The cottage is listed as open daily from 10:00 to 16:00, with last entry at 15:45. The supplied adult admission price is A$8.20; check the venue’s current visitor information before your visit, as prices may change.
Planning your stamp-collecting day
- Choose Wednesday, Friday or Sunday if you want to include all four stops, based on their shared regular opening days.
- Ask staff for the stamp at each location; availability and access may vary.
- Allow time for the visits and the journey between them. This is a city-wide outing rather than a single compact venue, so check a current map and plan the order that suits you.
- Confirm details before leaving, especially opening hours, admission and any temporary changes.
